Overview

ITS will upgrade OnBase 18 to OnBase EP3 on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 8 p.m.-9 p.m. This update includes Web access, Unity client access, and Thick client (scanning station) access. This will standardize our OnBase client versions, enable future improvements to OnBase, and optimize OnBase support for the entire campus and address outstanding Security Issues.

What Can You Expect

OnBase 18 Unity Client - ACTION REQUIRED

Any user still using an OnBase 18 Unity client on June 21, 2022, or thereafter must contact their IT Service Provider for the OnBase EP3 Unity Client. The OnBase EP3 Unity Client will be available to ITS-managed computers in the Windows Software Center prior to the cutover.

OnBase 18 Thick Client (Scanning Workstations)

The ITS Service Desk (or your IT Service Provider) will remotely work with users on unmanaged scanning workstations and upgrade the OnBase Thick Client on or around the cutover date (though the OnBase 18 Thick Client should still work after the cutover for a time). The upgrade will also be made available to ITS-managed computers in the Windows Software Center prior to the cutover.

OnBase 18 Web Client

The same shortcut URL (https://onbase.sfsu.edu) will now be the OnBase EP3 Web client. Anyone with a bookmark to the current URLs of https://ob18-web01.ad.sfsu.edu or https://ob18-web02.ad.sfsu.edu should update their bookmarks.

If you are already using the OnBase EP3 client, access to the Production environment will not be impacted.

This update will be made in campus Active Directory (AD). We anticipate this will take approximately 72 hours to complete.

What Can You Expect

COMPUTER LOGIN:

Use your SF-State-9-digit-ID @ sfsu.edu for SF State owned computers.

ALL OTHER SERVICES:

Your email address or SF-State-9-digit-ID can be used, but we recommend using your SF-State-9-digit-ID @ sfsu.edu as all services will eventually use that exclusively.

Overview

On Friday, May 27, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., SF State will remove the automatic email forwarding settings for all users. This change will improve the campus email security posture and bring all users to the same configurations. ITS has already implemented this for faculty and staff.

What Can You Expect

Automatic email forwarding will stop functioning on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. This will affect users who have automatic email forwarding set up, mostly students and secondary email accounts.

Anyone who wishes to have emails forwarded can still do so by setting up an email forwarding rule in Microsoft Outlook. Instructions for setting that up are in the IT Knowledge Base article How to create an email forwarding rule in Outlook Web Access. Additionally, anyone can manually forward an email.
