When transitioning away from SFSU, whether due to retirement, a new role, or a new chapter, it's essential to understand what happens to your digital footprint. Below, you'll find answers to frequently asked questions about your data, including access to email, shared drives, and other university-managed systems. This guide can help you plan the process while ensuring you retain your important files and information and ensure a smooth off-boarding experience.
In general, SFSU employees separating from the university will have access to their login credentials for a maximum of two weeks after separation. Some exceptions may apply.

All SFSU employees separating from the university will immediately lose access to cloud and desktop applications. These applications include but are not limited to:
- Adobe
- Box
- Microsoft 365 (Excluding Outlook online)
* If you share data with other people on Box.com or any other relevant areas, please let us know before hand so that we can assist you with the transition to the right designee(s).
Please return any devices owned and managed by SFSU to the ITS Service Desk. The Service Desk is located in the Administration (ADM) building on the 1st floor.
