Overview
San Francisco State University and other CSU campuses are experiencing a distributed denial of service event (DDoS) against the Domain Name Service (DNS) Servers. This type of event causes connectivity issues between campus services. We are actively working on mitigating the effects of this event to restore all impacted campus services to optimal operational conditions.
What Can You Expect
As we continue to work to resolve this issue, end users may have difficulty connecting to the following campus services, including but not limited to:
- Wi-Fi
- Virtual Private Network (VPN)
- iLearn
- Canvas
- Zoom
- Gateway
- Campus Solutions Platforms

Overview
The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft’s Human Resources (HR) 9.0. The downtime will occur today, Friday, July 28, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply a maintenance pack upgrade.
Benefit:
This maintenance pack will add two State Controller’s Office (SCO) Earning IDs that will be used to pay for Faculty Training & Development Stipend and Special Advisor Stipend.
What Can You Expect
Human Resources (HR) will not be available during the maintenance window.

IT Network Connectivity Unscheduled Outage: Wi-Fi and VPN Network Service Connection (July 21, 2023)
Overview
The campus is currently experiencing an unscheduled DNS outage, which appears to be affecting access to various services, including on-campus Wi-Fi Networks and VPN services. ITS is working to restore these services as quickly as possible.
What Can You Expect
End users may have difficulty connecting to campus Wi-Fi networks and off-campus VPN services.

Overview
On Friday, July 21, 2023, ITS will apply upgrades to the Oracle 19C Database on the IRDMPRD database. These upgrades ensure our data remains protected. The maintenance window will run from Friday, July 21, 2023, 5:00 p.m. until Saturday, July 22, 2023, 5:00 p.m. There will be an interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle databases during the upgrade installation.
Benefit:
This enhancement will ensure that we maintain highly secure Oracle databases.

- Metro College Data Feed to the SalesForce Cloud
- Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) Data Feed to InfoED Cloud

- University Advancement CRM DataMart (BlackBaud Cloud)
- Budget and Operations - Executive Dashboard (Tableau Cloud)

Overview
The Chancellor's Office has scheduled an urgent downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platform Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2. The downtime will occur today, Friday, July 7, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply a maintenance pack upgrade.
Benefit:
This downtime will apply updates to the Middle Class Scholarship enrollment reporting process.
