Overview
Beginning Friday, April 12, at 6 p.m. and ending Saturday, April 13, at noon, the Chancellor’s Office will migrate PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Human Resources production environments to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.
Benefit:
Migrating Campus Solutions & Human Resources to AWS will:
- Achieve higher levels of automation
- Improve campus productivity
- Increase operational efficiency and reduce costs
- Offer greater agility to support campus initiatives
- Provide enhanced data security
What Can You Expect
During the migration, users will be unable to use any web and mobile application that accesses PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or Human Resources data. This migration impacts the following information and services:
- Class Schedule
- CPaGE Shopping Cart
- Email Account and Password Reset
- Employment information
- Faculty Grade Exceptions
- Pre-Requisite Roster/Permission Number
- Student Academic, Registration, Enrollment, and Graduation information
- Student Account and Financial Aid information

Overview
On Saturday, April 6, from 6 to 10 p.m., ITS will apply monthly security and critical OS updates on the Linux servers.
Benefit: The latest Linux security patches fix the vulnerabilities and errors in Linux and associated services. Security and critical updates reduce the risk of exploitation by malware and hackers.
What Can You Expect
During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service. Each service will be unavailable for approximately ten minutes during the maintenance window.

Overview
On Friday, March 29th, from 10 p.m. until midnight, ITS will upgrade the campus wireless infrastructure to a new operating system for increased security.
Benefit: This upgrade will reduce security vulnerabilities on the campus wireless network.
What Can You Expect
During the maintenance window, users will be unable to connect to the campus WiFi network.

Overview
Beginning Friday, March 22nd, at 10 p.m. and running through Saturday, March 23rd, at 2 a.m., ITS will migrate the Wi-Fi authentication system to the latest hardware and operating system.
Benefit: This upgrade will provide better system performance and network security.
What Can You Expect
Campus Wi-Fi services, including SFState and Eduroam, will not be available during the maintenance window until the migration is complete. Wi-Fi in residential areas will not be interrupted.

Microsoft resolved the Teams service issue that affected mobile and desktop clients.
What Can You Expect
MS Teams mobile and desktop clients should be working as expected.
You might be asked to re-authenticate when starting the client.

Overview
ITS is working on an issue affecting Microsoft Teams mobile and desktop clients. Users are seeing a prompt to install InTune Portal applications.
What Can You Expect
ITS is working to identify and resolve the root cause of this error.
In the meantime, please temporarily switch to MS Teams for the web at this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/log-in.
Using Teams on the web should allow users to use Teams as usual. Do not install the InTune Portal app. ITS will continue to update users as we learn more.

Overview
The SF State Web Application server (webapps.sfsu.edu) will undergo a scheduled maintenance on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 10 - 10:20 p.m. The purpose of this maintenance is to reset the database password for the applications that run on the SF State Web Application server (webapps.sfsu.edu).
What Can You Expect
During the maintenance window, users will not be able to access webapps.sfsu.edu, which provides services to the following:
- 2FA Bypass Code Request
- Academic Senate Voting
- CEL Shopping Cart
- Class Schedule
- Email Account Services
- Grade Exceptions
- Password Reset
- People Directory Search
- Pre-Requisite Roster / Permission Number
- Security Questions Update
- Security Groups Management
- SF State Gateway such as Announcements, Class Schedule, Holds, To Do List, Financial Info and Admission Status (access to LaunchPads and Links will not be impacted)
- SF State ID lookup
- Short Term Loan
- University Calendar

The latest Windows security patches fix the vulnerabilities and errors in Windows and associated software. Security and critical updates reduce the risk of exploitation by malware or hackers.
What Can You Expect
During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each server is rebooted. Each server is expected to be unavailable for less than 10 minutes during the maintenance window.

Overview
Beginning Friday, March 15, 2024, ITS will apply critical Oracle patches to the FPPRD & FWPRD databases. These critical security updates ensure our data remains protected. The maintenance will run until Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. During the patch process, there will be a brief interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle databases.
Benefit: Upgrading the Oracle FPPRD & FWPRD will ensure our databases remain secure.
What Can You Expect
The following applications and services will not be available during upgrading:
- Cash Offset for GL
- CFS Crosswalk
- Change Oracle Account Password
- CSU Accounting Line for GL
- Gator pass
- Independent Contractor for Auxiliary
- Prorate
- Registration Appeal
- Scheduled Jobs for Cashnet
- Short-term loan

ITS will upgrade the campus DNS infrastructure on Monday, March 11th, from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Benefit: Upgrading the campus DNS servers will increase capacity and improve performance capabilities.
What Can You Expect
During this time, users may experience slower name resolution, which may cause issues like web pages to load more slowly or stall during loading.
