Michelle continues to excel in her new Project Lead role! Our small PMO has been through staff changes and has seen our share of project requests but Michelle handles everything professionally, calmly and is a pleasure to work with! In Q4, she helped complete the Classroom Phone Migrations project, PMO’s Box Migration, assisted with 2FA communications, served as a backup PM for AM2020, actively participated in the TPM search committee, hosted PMO meetings and prepared a number of PMO reports. Thank you, Michelle for your hard work and support!

Update to SF State Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Global Login and Password Reset Services (January 10, 2023)

Overview 

On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, Information Technology Services (ITS) will implement improvements to the SF State Azure Single Sign-On (SSO) Global Login and Password Reset services that will improve both the application’s reliability and security.

What Can You Expect 

At this time, no action is required. All SF State IT services will remain operational without any service disruption. In addition to reliability and security improvements, users can also anticipate a new and improved look and feel for the Global Login and Password Reset services. This change will modernize the overall appearance of the two-factor authentication (2FA) prompt.

I want to thank Andy for his hard work and dedication on the AM2020 project! In order to get the project done faster, we grouped multiple areas. This required Andy to prepare grids and templates, present at kickoff meetings, troubleshoot and consult, and QA up to 4 departments at one time. It wasn’t easy but we’re ending the year 76% done and on track to complete the project early next year. Thank you, Andy!

Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 Production Downtime (Friday, December 9, 2022, 8 p.m. – midnight)

Overview

The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platforms Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2. The downtime will occur Friday, December 9th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply a maintenance pack upgrade.

Benefit:

Updates will be made to the Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) roster file to accommodate file layout changes effective 2022-2023.

What Can You Expect

Campus Solutions (CS) will not be available during the maintenance window.

Affected applications include:

- CEL Quick Admit

- Gator Scheduler

- Accept Admission Offer

Hensill Hall Maintenance: Network Upgrade (Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.)

Overview:

ITS will be performing a hardware upgrade to Network switch sfs-hen-842-sw-1 on Thursday, December 22, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. The upgraded switch hardware will be more secure than the current switch which has been diagnosed as no longer effective by the vendor.

What can you expect: 

Some network connections (wired, wireless, and VoIP phones) on the 7th and 8th floors of the Hensill Hall building may be down briefly during the maintenance window.  Not all connections on the 7th and 8th floors of Hensill Hall will be impacted. This maintenance will impact no other floors.

COMPLETED: Chancellor’s Office Mandated Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR) PeopleTools 8.59 Upgrade (11/04/2022 5:00 p.m. -11/07/2022 8:00 a.m.)

Overview:

The Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR) PeopleTools 8.59 upgrade, a project mandated by the Chancellor’s Office, has been completed.

To ensure minimal impact to SF State, the ERP and Business Intelligence team worked in conjunction with campus subject matter experts to test functionality and connections between Campus Solutions (CS), Human Capital Management (HCM), Common Financial System (CFS), the SF State mobile app, and external vendors and local databases. We officially confirm that all applications are accessible and running efficiently. 

What Can You Expect:

Applications that access PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Human Resources directly are fully functional.

IMPORTANT: Winter 2022 registration is now available.

Giving thanks to Ryan for quickly resolving issue I had installing software using Software Center on a new workstation assigned to me. I particularly paid attention to the customer service experience and found the interaction be enjoyable, especially with the BeyondTrust (Bomgar) remote desktop support software.

Just a question, is there a way to brand the interface to where it is using the school colors (Purple/Gold)?
