Starting on October 1, 2024, ITS will implement a new security measure to enhance the protection of SF State accounts. Introducing Duo Verified Push for Mobile App.
When logging in with SF State credentials, if you use Duo Mobile Apps with Duo Push for verification purposes, you will receive a Duo Verified Push notification containing a series of numbers. You must enter the numbers from the Duo prompt into the device you are logging into to sign in successfully. This change helps enhance the security of your SF State account by making it more difficult for a malicious actor to steal your credentials. For more information, please check out our news article.

The recent Mobile refresh project was largely built on the extensive interface designs provided by Evelynne. She surveyed student employees across campus, attended events with students to get their feedback, and worked with various organizations to determine what was needed to provide a student-focused refresh. He efforts included editing out information that wasn't used to simply the experience and working into the design new features like the next-class display which provided immediately useful information on the main screen with one-click access to maps and the instructor's email.
This Shout Out goes to the mobile app refresh team in general. Nat, Stephen, Rebecca, Evelynn, and Paul. In addition, Ivan, Hugh, and Bernie were instrumental in improving the PeopleSoft connection and data integration. Every corner of the mobile app was touched by this project and it involved a lot of new research to solve user frustrations and new code to implement desired features. The app was completed early in order to meet the start of the Fall semester and avoid the production freeze.
