Gilbert has taken over as the primary support contact for OnBase. He is well organized and follows up with customers until resolution. He is methodical with OnBase daily maintenance to keep the system running smoothly while monitoring logs to identify issues before the general campus notice them.

Qun L

Qun has been instrumental in upgrading Exchange servers to version 2019 and with reconfiguring al Windows servers to point to new DNS servers. These are major tasks and he has done an excellent job with them.

Upgrade to the Nagios Software (Monday, April 24, 2023, 10 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.)

Overview

To improve security, ITS will update the Nagios software to the latest version on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 10 p.m. -10:30 p.m.

What Can You Expect

Nagios monitoring and the https://nagios.ops.sfsu.edu will not be available during the maintenance window.

This update made to the Nagios Software will improve security on nagios.ops.sfsu.edu.

Monthly Windows Update (Saturday, April 15, 2023, 6 p.m.-midnight)

Overview

ITS will apply monthly Windows security updates and critical updates on Windows servers on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 6 p.m.-midnight. The latest Windows security patches fix the vulnerabilities and errors in Windows and associated software. Security and critical updates reduce the risk of exploitation by malware or hackers.

What Can You Expect

During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each server is rebooted. Each server is expected to be unavailable for less than 10 minutes during the maintenance window.

SF State Web Application Server Maintenance (April 14, 2023, 10 p.m.)

Overview

The SF State Web Application server (webapps.sfsu.edu) will undergo scheduled maintenance on Thursday, April 14, 2023, from 10 p.m. - 10:20 p.m.

New GlobalProtect Client Version (Friday, April 21, 2023, 8 p.m.)

Overview

On Friday, April 21, 2023, at 8 p.m., ITS will implement a new GlobalProtect client version 5.2.12 to enforce security.

Benefit:

The new version of GlobalProtect will enable more settings for a thorough client security check.  

What Can You Expect

Upon connecting to VPN, once the new version goes live, users will be prompted to upgrade their GlobalProtect client to the latest version, 5.2.12.

WiFi Authentication Service Certificate Renewal (Thursday, April 20, 2023, 9 p.m.-midnight)

Overview

The certificate on the WiFi client authentication system will expire soon. ITS will install a new certificate to replace and update the old one on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 9 p.m. until midnight.

Benefit: 

ITS will update the WiFi Authentication System with a current certificate. 

What Can You Expect

Depending on their operating system, some WiFi clients may receive a new certificate warning. Users can establish the WiFi connection once they accept the new certificate.

Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 Production Downtime (Friday, April 14, 2023, 8 p.m. – midnight)

Overview

The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platforms Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2. The downtime will occur on Friday, Apr 14th, from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply a maintenance pack upgrade.

Benefit:

This maintenance will apply a modification to the New Cal Grant to estimate awards for first-time freshmen.

Campus Solutions (CS) will not be available during the maintenance window.
