Scheduled Outage from Office of the Chancellor (Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 10:00 p.m. - Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.)

Overview

The Chancellor Office’s Data Center has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus-wide PeopleSoft platforms, which includes Campus Solutions (CS), Human Resources (HR), Common Financial Systems (CFS) and Financial Data Warehouse (FDW). All CMS Data Center services will be unavailable from Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 10:00 p.m.-Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 9:00 a.m.

What Can You Expect

Campus Solutions (CS), Human Resources (HR), Common Financial Systems (CFS), and Financial Data Warehouse (FDW) will be unavailable during the maintenance window. Scheduled jobs during this maintenance window may also be impacted. Affected applications include:

  • Cash Offset for GL
  • CEL Quick Admit 
  • CFS Crosswalk
  • CSU Accounting Line for GL

Border Firewall Network Maintenance (Friday, February 11, 2022, from noon-4:00 p.m.)

Overview

The ITS Network team will perform maintenance on Friday, February 11, 2022, from noon – 4:00 p.m.

What Can You Expect

ITS does not expect any impact to traffic passing through the border firewall. We will be closely monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic to ensure connectivity.

Oracle Database Maintenance - FPPRD & FWPRD (Friday, February 11, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. - Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.)

Overview

A critical Oracle patch will be applied to the FPPRD & FWPRD Databases starting on Friday, February 11, 2022. These critical security updates are being applied to ensure our data remains protected. The maintenance will be from Friday, February 11, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

There will be an interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle database while the patch is being applied.

What Can You Expect

Campus Core Switches Operating System Upgrade (Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 6:00 a.m.)

Overview

On Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 6:00 a.m.-6:30 a.m., the ITS network team will be performing a software upgrade on the Data Center core switches to comply with CSU standards.

What Can You Expect

160 Spear Street Internet access (wired and wireless) and inbound phone service will be down during the upgrade window.  All other services will be unaffected during this time.

Unified Communication (UC) System Log4j Security Updates (Friday, February 4, 2022, 4:30 a.m.–8:00 a.m.)

Overview 

AT&T will be patching our Avaya telecom servers to patch the Log4j vulnerability on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 4:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m.

What Can You Expect 

All Avaya phone services will be intermittently unavailable while the servers are being patched. Elevator phones and code blue phones will not be impacted.

RESOLVED: Downtown Campus (160 Spear Street) Internet, Wi-Fi, & Phone Connectivity are up 

Overview 

Internet, Wi-Fi, and Phone Connectivity have been restored to 160 Spear Street.

What Can You Expect  

All connectivity has been restored to 160 Spear Street. ITS will continue to monitor this site to ensure it remains up & stable, and will work with AT&T for a detailed RFO (Reason for Outage).

UPDATE: Downtown Campus (160 Spear Street) Internet, Wi-Fi, & Phone Connectivity are down (Sunday, January 30, 2022 – 10pm) 

Overview 

160 Spear Street remains without Internet, Wi-Fi, and Phone Connectivity. AT&T sent field technicians onsite and they spliced the broken fiber cable, but after testing it still didn’t work. They will send another technician onsite first thing tomorrow morning to do further work and hope to have service restored before end of day Monday.

What Can You Expect  

Currently there is no Internet, Wi-Fi, or phone connectivity at 160 Spear Street. ITS will send an update as soon as we have more details.

160 Spear Street remains without Internet, Wi-Fi, and Phone Connectivity. AT&T has isolated the problem and is performing fiber restoration work.  They have engaged a specialist to assist with repairs and are awaiting a dispatch into the AT&T Network at their Central Office.  AT&T does not currently have an ETR (Estimated Time to Repair) but ITS will continue to follow up and send regular updates.
