OnBase 24 Upgrade
Upgrade OnBase to improve application performance, maintenance, and security.
Project Overview
This project is focused on an in parallel upgrade of OnBase EP3 to OnBase 24.1. Architecture of OnBase will be redesigned to better handle maintenance cycles, improve performance, and address security concerns.
Objectives
- Upgrade locally hosted OnBase installation to version 24.1
- Migrate all end users to the new version
High-Level Requirements
- Upgrade locally hosted OnBase installation to version 24.1
- Construct a new Document Import Process (DIP) server for 24.1
- Leave the old version EP3 DIP server to facilitate future migration of integrations
- Upgrade all desktop client software to support version 24.1
- Migrate all end users to the new version
In Scope
- IPUP – In Parallel Upgrade Process (Both version EP3 and Version 24 will co-exist)
- OnBase-Storage User ID Based Security for Thick Client Scanning
- OnBase Processing Server Infrastructure Changes (DIP)
- OnBase EP3 Retirement
- Adjustments to support continuance of EP3 DIP server for limited time
- Remove NetApp dependency for OnBase
- Remove DDS dependency for OnBase
- Oracle Security Improvement
- Update OnBase Clients (Unity, Thick, Config, Studio) to version 24
- Update Oracle Clients to version 19 as necessary
- OnBase Web URL rename
Out of Scope
- Integration migrations (These will be separate projects)
- Retirement of NetApp other than OnBase
- DDS Retirement other than OnBase
- Any new scanning setup
- New department implementations
- Modification of existing department implementations
- OnBase Infrastructure changes outside of items listed under In Scope
- OnBase Patch Process
- Oracle changes (upgrade / patching)
Major Deliverables and Milestones
- OnBase Oracle database is set up and all versions of OnBase and supporting servers are pointed to it
- OnBase 24.1 DIP server is set up on second license and hosting compatible document processes
- OnBase EP3 DIP server is set up and compatible with OnBase 24 to continue serving older document processes until they can migrate
- OnBase Web and Unity clients can connect to OnBase 24
