Overview
The university will conduct a scheduled power redundancy test on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. To protect critical equipment from potential power surges during the test, most campus network switches will be powered down starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15.
Internet and network services (wired and wireless) will not be available from Friday, August 15 at 6:00 p.m. until Saturday, August 16 at 3:00 p.m.
The campus data center will remain operational during the maintenance window.
Benefit
This preventive measure helps avoid failure of the power supply units in network switches and ensures the long-term reliability of the university’s network infrastructure.
What to Expect
- No access to campus internet or Wi-Fi during the downtime window
- No access from campus to campus-hosted systems and services (including file shares, printers, and some VoIP phone services)
- Restoration of network services is expected by 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16
The following buildings will have network equipment powered down and will not have network connectivity during the maintenance window:

- Business
- Creative Arts
- Fine Arts
- Gym
- Hensill Hall
- Health and Social Sciences
- Humanities
- Marcus Hall / College of Liberal & Creative Arts
- Library (except Room LIB 020C)
- Administration Building (except Data Center ADM 09)
- Science & Engineering Innovation Center
- Psychology and Ethnic Studies
- Mashouf Wellness Center
- Science
- Student Services Building
- Thornton Hall
Please Note: Other campus buildings not listed above may also experience power-related disruptions during the redundancy test.
