Statistical Software (SPSS)

Service Description

The IBM SPSS software platform offers advanced statistical analysis.  The software offers a vast library of machine learning algorithms, text analysis, open source extensibility, integration with big data and seamless deployment into applications.

SF State is licensed to use the products, IBM SPSS Statistics and IBM SPSS Amos.  SPSS Statistics offers an integrated suite of statistical analysis capabilities, including specialized capabilities suited for large enterprises across various industries.  SPSS Amos provides the power to easily perform structural equation modeling to build models with more accuracy than standard multivariate statistics techniques.

Information Technology Services supports IBM SPSS Statistics Premium Campus Edition versions 26, and 27 for Windows and macOS.  ITS also supports IBM SPSS Amos, which is available only for Windows.

All SF State faculty and staff are eligible to install SPSS on campus and personally owned computers. Students may access SPSS on Academic Technology's Labspace, and in several campus computer labs.
