Campus Data & L1 Storage

Box is the approved application for managing encrypted, secure departmental data. Use Box to store and manage confidential Level 1 data (L1).  Box L1 is an encrypted application accessible from any computer running Windows 10, Mac OS 14 or newer and requires a SF State account with Duo two-factor authentication.

Individual campus units can request a Box at SF State folder by submitting a request form. Access to Box folders are managed by ITS. We are no longer creating new Secure Departmental File Shares, existing secure shares can be managed using the request form below (requires VPN).
