Comodo Cleaning Essentials is a set of computer security tools designed to help users identify and remove malware and unsafe processes from infected computers.


Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (Windows)

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware tool provides runtime detection and removal of malware. This software is available free for home/personal use but is not free for university-owned machines.


Microsoft Safety Scanner (Windows)

Microsoft Safety Scanner is a one-time tool for removing malicious software. Each download expires 10 days after being downloaded. To run a scan with the latest anti-malware definitions, download the software again.


Microsoft Windows Defender Offline (Windows)

Microsoft Windows Defender Offline is a one-time tool for removing malicious software. The software requires an uninfected computer where a bootable CD/DVD or flash drive is created. The bootable image is then used to boot and clean the infected computer.


ClamXav (Mac)

ClamXav, based on ClamAV, is a free open-source anti-virus finder and killer. It'll find Windows viruses as well as Mac malware, and it will only go after files you specify, using daily updated definitions.
