Microsoft is currently rolling out a mitigation worldwide. Customers should begin seeing recovery. ITS has observed some services being intermittently restored as Teams is now allowing occasional connections.

Microsoft is currently rolling out a mitigation worldwide. Customers should begin seeing recovery at this time and anticipates full remediation within 60 minutes. ITS has observed some services being intermittently restored as Teams is now allowing occasional connections.

Overview:

A critical Oracle patch will be applied on ATLSPROD database starting on Friday, May 14, 2021. These critical security updates are being applied to ensure our data remains protected. The maintenance will be from Friday, May 14, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. There will be an interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle databases while the patch is being applied.

What can you expect:

The following applications and services will not be available during patching:

Critical Oracle patches will be applied on the PROD & OBPRD databases starting on Friday, March 5, 2021. These critical security updates are being applied to ensure our data remains protected. The maintenance will be from Friday, March 5, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. There will be an interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle databases while the patch is being applied.

Overview:

This reminder is intended for the new GlobalProtect Virtual Private Network (VPN) service student login portal https://gp-students.sfsu.edu. The student portal has been in production since November 2nd, 2020, and current students who are using https://gp.sfsu.edu will need to use the new portal for accessing academic resources. Student access to https://gp.sfsu.edu will be phased out by February 20, 2021 at 10:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST). This change is for existing VPN users. All campus students will have dedicated VPN services to access protected campus resources. Students' accounts permissions will be managed by Academic Technology (AT) Services.

What can you expect:

Students should update their portal address to gp-students.sfsu.edu. Instructions can be found at https://its.sfsu.edu/guides/howupdateglobalprotectloginportal.

Overview:

ITS will apply monthly Windows security updates and critical updates on Windows servers on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 6:00 p.m.-midnight. The latest Windows security patches fix the vulnerabilities and errors in Windows and associated software. Security and critical updates reduce the risk of exploitation by malware or hackers.

What can you expect:

During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each server is rebooted. Each server is expected to be unavailable for less than 10 minutes during the maintenance window.

Overview:

ITS will make security changes for the Domain Controllers that include disabling legacy encryption protocol RC4 on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 8:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. RC4 is considered a security vulnerability. Microsoft Security Advisory recommends disabling RC4.

What can you expect:

Devices with legacy Client and Server Operating Systems that do not support modern AES encryption will not be able to log in to Campus Active Directory or use Active Directory integrated resources such as Departmental Shares.

The maintenance will be from Friday, June 11, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.

There will be an interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle database while the patch is being applied.

Overview:

The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platforms (Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 and Human Resources (HR) 9.0. The downtime will occur on Friday, February 12th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply maintenance pack upgrade.

This upgrade:

  • Fixes various bugs from the Oracle delivered American College Testing (ACT) file mapping
  • Updates Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) payment processing
  • Brings enhancements to the Veterans Benefit Oracle delivered module

What can you expect:

Both Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR) will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include:

  • Accept Admission Offer
  • CEL Quick Admit
  • E-Trac
  • Gator Scheduler
