Overview:

ITS plans to perform scheduled maintenance to enable Modern Authentication for Outlook 2016 clients on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 7:30 a.m. in preparation for email migration to Office 365. The new authentication will increase the security of the SF State email system.

What can you expect:

Customers using Outlook 2016 will be prompted for SF State login credentials upon initial login. A browser window will pop up to allow for entering the SF State ID and password. This is a one-time authentication request.

Overview:

Faculty Sites (faculty.sfsu.edu) will undergo a scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 10:00 p.m. until midnight to upgrade the operating systems that run on the faculty.sfsu.edu server.

ITS is upgrading the faculty.sfsu.edu server to a newer version of the operating system in order to keep the system secure.

What can you expect:

During this maintenance users will not be able to access faculty.sfsu.edu.

Overview:

Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 maintenance will be performed on Friday, July 13th, 2018 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The accuracy of first-time student placement in Mathematics and English/Written Communications is critical to student success. Critical issues have been identified with the Executive Order (EO) 1110/Academic Prep and Placement modification. This maintenance pack corrects these issues.

What can you expect:

Campus PeopleSoft platforms will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include:

  • CEL Quick Admit
  • Gator Scheduler
  • Accept Admission Offer

Overview:

Campus Solutions (CS) / Human Capital Management (HCM) maintenance will be performed on Friday, July 6thfrom 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This update provides integration with our Telecom system, which will allow users to see their business phone numbers in HCM and allow them to set that phone number as the preferred one.

What can you expect:

Campus PeopleSoft platforms will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include:

Overview:

ITS will be enabling a QoS (Quality of Service) configuration to SF State’s border routers From Saturday 7/7/2018 at 10:00 p.m. until Sunday 7/8/2018 at 2:00 a.m. This new QoS configuration will help improve the security of our campus network.

What can you expect:

No network outage is expected. Adding and testing the QoS configuration is not expected to result in a loss of network connectivity.

Overview:

The Chancellor’s Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platforms (Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 & Human Capital Management (HCM) 9.0). The downtime will occur on Friday, June 29th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor’s Office works to apply maintenance pack upgrades for both platforms.

What can you expect:

Campus PeopleSoft platforms will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include:

  • E-Trac
  • CEL Quick Admit
  • Gator Scheduler
  • Accept Admission Offer

Benefits of this maintenance include:

  • Incorporates the 2018-2019 MCS Enrollment Selection process’ updated criteria as specified by California Student Aid Commission (CSAC)
  • Incorporates the 2018-2019 Aid Year updates for COD DL (Common Origination and Disbursement Direct Loan) and COD Pell

Overview:

On Friday, June 22nd from 10:00 p.m. to Saturday, June 23rdat 5:00 a.m., ITS will be upgrading the Wireless Network Authentication to a newer version.

As the current version will no longer be supported by the vendor starting in early 2019, we are making the necessary change well in advance to ensure users are not impacted.

What can you expect:

Guest wireless access registration and login will not function during the upgrade. Existing guest wireless connections and all other wireless network access will not be affected.

Overview:

On Saturday, June 23rd, 2018, Skillsoft Cloud Operations will be conducting maintenance activities on the infrastructure and software supporting the Skillsoft datacenters. Because of the significant nature of this maintenance, Skillsoft regrets that this event must be conducted with some impact to learners.

What can you expect:

As a result, all Skillsoft hosted services, with the exception of Percipio, will be inaccessible during this maintenance event. Every effort is being made to minimize the duration of those activities, and Skillsoft's expectation is that the impact will not exceed 12 hours commencing at 7:00 AM Eastern. It is their hope that the impact will be less in duration; however, in the interest of setting conservative expectations, up to 12 hours should be anticipated.



Overview:

On Saturday, June 30th from 10:00 p.m. to Sunday, July 1st at 6:00 a.m., the primary campus internet connection will be upgraded from 10 Gigabit Ethernet to 100 Gigabit Ethernet.

This upgrade will increase our internet capacity for the campus.

What can you expect:

Access to and from SF State resources and the internet will experience intermittent disruptions during this maintenance window.
