Overview:

ITS is receiving user reports of issues connecting to their SF State email on Apple’s iPhone Mail application. Users are reporting an error stating “Password Incorrect: Enter the password for the Exchange account”.

What can you expect:

It is recommended that users use the Outlook Mobile App as it is the only officially supported app. Users who are looking to continue to use Apple Mail can attempt to (1) delete their SF State mail profile on their phone (Settings > Mail > Accounts > select SF State account > Delete Account) and (2) then re-add it (Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account > Microsoft Exchange > enter your SF State email > Next > Sign In > Work or school account > then SF State Global Sign In).

Overview:

The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platforms (Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2 and Human Resources (HR) 9.0. The downtime will occur on Friday, Oct 1st from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply maintenance pack upgrade. This update will provide:

  • 2022-23 admissions application updates
  • Update to eligible CA promise high schools
  • Updates to ethnicity group code table

What can you expect:

Both Campus Solutions (CS) and Human Resources (HR) will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include:

  • Accept Admission Offer
  • CEL Quick Admit
  • E-Trac
  • Gator Scheduler

Overview:

The ITS Network team will perform maintenance on Friday, October 8, 2021 from noon – 5:00 p.m. to increase security on the Border Firewall. The maintenance will increase border security to protect the campus from cyber attacks.

What can you expect:

ITS does not expect any impact to traffic passing through the border firewall. We will be closely monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic to ensure connectivity.

Overview:

A critical Oracle patch will be applied to the FPPRD and FWPRD databases starting on Friday, October 8, 2021. These critical security updates are being applied to ensure our data remains protected. The maintenance will be from Friday, October 8, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. There will be an interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle databases while the patch is being applied.

What can you expect:

The following applications and services will not be available during patching:​​

  • Cash Offset for GL
  • CFS Crosswalk
  • Change Oracle Account Password
  • CSU Accounting Line for GL
  • Gator pass
  • Independent Contractor for Auxiliary
  • Prorate
  • Registration Appeal
  • Scheduled Jobs for Cashnet
  • Short-term loan

The websites hosted on faculty.sfsu.edu will be unavailable Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 10:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

The SF State www.sfsu.edu server will undergo a scheduled maintenance on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 10:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. The purpose of this maintenance is to upgrade the operating system and increase security.

The websites hosted on www.sfsu.edu will be unavailable on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 10:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

Overview:

ITS will apply monthly Windows security updates and critical updates on Windows servers on Saturday, October 16, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. - midnight. The latest Windows security patches fix the vulnerabilities and errors in Windows and associated software. Security and critical updates reduce the risk of exploitation by malware or hackers.

What can you expect:

During the maintenance window, users may experience a brief loss of service while each server is rebooted. Each server is expected to be unavailable for less than 10 minutes during the maintenance window.

Overview:

The Chancellor's Office has scheduled a downtime maintenance window for campus PeopleSoft platforms Campus Solutions (CS) 9.2. The downtime will occur on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight while the Chancellor's Office works to apply maintenance pack upgrade. This Financial Aid update enables reporting of 2020-2021 aid year data in order to apply for campus-based funds for the 2022-2023 aid year.

What can you expect:

Campus Solutions (CS) will not be available during the maintenance window. Affected applications include:

  • CEL Quick Admit
  • Gator Scheduler

Overview:

The ITS Network team will perform maintenance on Friday, September 10, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. to simplify the Student Health Services network. This maintenance will streamline network connectivity at Student Health Services.

What can you expect:

During this maintenance internet access from wired connections may be intermittently affected. Wireless service will not be impacted.

The maintenance will be from Friday, September 10, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. There will be an interruption to all services that connect to the Oracle databases while the patch is being applied.

What can you expect:

The following applications and services will not be available during patching: 

  • The Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) Provisioning system
  • WebFocus reporting services - Dept of IR
