ClearPass OnGuard Guide

SF State uses a product called ClearPass OnGuard (with a SecureW2 installer) to implement Network Access Control for the campus' wired network. The SecureW2 installer auto-configures your network settings and OnGuard provides the interface for logging on to the network.


Install ClearPass OnGuard for Windows

  1. Navigate to the SecureW2 Installer: https://cloud.securew2.com/public/70755/SFSUWired/
  2. If your device/operating system is not auto-detected, select it from the Select your device: dropdown at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click JoinNowSecureW2 First Screen
  4. When the download had finished, open the downloaded file: WiFi_San_Francisco_State_University_Wrapper.exe
  5. If required, select Allow/OK to launch the application
  6. Enter your SF State ID as your Username
  7. Enter your SF State Password
  8. Click NextSecureW2 Login Screen
  9. Click OK to select English as the default language
  10. On the ClearPass Welcome screen click Next
  11. Check I accept the terms of the License AgreementClear Pass License
  12. Click Install
  13. Click Finish
  14. Click Done

NOTE: Laptop users with a Dell/Targus docking station may need to reinstall the docking station driver after installing OnGuard.

 

Install ClearPass OnGuard for Macintosh

  1. Navigate to the SecureW2 Installer: https://cloud.securew2.com/public/70755/SFSUWired/
  2. If your device/operating system is not auto-detected, select it from the Select your device: dropdown at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click JoinNowSecureW2 Join New Screen
  4. Follow the browser prompts to save the file
  5. When the download has finished, open the downloaded file: WiFi_San_Francisco_State_University_Wrapper.dmg
  6. Double Click SecureW2 JoinNow to launch the installerSecureW2 Icon
  7. If prompted, select Open to allow the downloaded file to run
  8. Enter your SF State ID number as your Username
  9. Enter your SF State Password as your Password
  10. Click NextSecureW2 Login Screen
  11. If prompted, enter an administrative computer password to allow the install
  12. Follow the OnGuard installer prompts:
    • Click Continue to install the application
    • Click Continue to confirm the installation
    • Click Continue and Agree to accept the License
    • Click Install
    • If prompted, enter an administrative computer password to allow the install
    • Click Close
  13. Click ContinueSecure W2 Continue Screen
  14. Click Done
