Services Impacted: SV9500 phone service will be out as the system resets and reboots. expected recovery is 15 minutes, 88% of the phones will immediately recover. the remaining 12 % are VoIP and will recover in random groups that may span from 1 - 45 minutes. All services are expected back online prior to 7am.

Description of Change: Some Phone Services on campus will be interrupted for approximately 15 minutes while a system is reset. The system supports approximately half the campus SingleLine phones, Emergency, Elevator, Courtesy phones, and the entire Library and Downtown offices. To minimize user impact work is planned at 6am Friday Feb.17th. This work is necessary as part of the phone service upgrade at the Downtown office and will result in protecting phone services there in the unlikely event of a network service failure between campus and DTC. Some Library and DTC phones may take up to 45 minutes to recover service. SingleLine phone service will recover immediately after the system reboot.

The latest version contains necessary functions that are needed by Bus.Services, and telecom to provide necessary support. We will upgrade to the supported version.

Description of Change: In February, 2015 the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved an overlay that added new 628 area code to the 415 area code region. Under the overlay plan, all calls made from the 415 area code must dial 1 + area code + 7-digit telephone number for all calls to telephone numbers with the 415 and 628 area codes. Under CPUC, this dialing procedure has become mandatory for all residential and business consumers. Equipment or features including automatic dialers, speed-dialing, call forwarding, modems for computers etc. should be reprogrammed for the new dialing plan. Consumers will still be able to dial three digits to reach 911, 211, 311, 411, 511, 611, 711, and 811.
